Care and Maintenance
The RazorSword will come with a light coating of oil to protect against rust and pitting. Moisture and salt is the enemy of any high quality high carbon steel edged weapon. Since all stainless steel swords are not battle ready; all real battle ready swords are made from high carbon steel that will rust if not maintained with a coat of protective oil. If you touch the bare blade with your bare hands; you must wipe the blade and coat it with oil.
Please care for your RazorSword as it will protect you!
- Keep a light coating of a light oil the blade. (Even WD-40) Boeshield T-9 is highly recommended.
- Never touch a bare-blade with your bare-hands. (Sweat has salt) in it and will pit and rust the blade) Sweat and moisture is the enemy of high carbon steel.
- Alternative: You may wipe the blade with a silicone gun cloth. (Light oil is preferred)
- If rust occurs you may remove it with a 200 to 400 grit or finer sandpaper and lightweight oil. Move the sandpaper (up & down) along the entire length of the RazorSword with a smooth action.
- Before storing the RazorSword Blade; coat the blade with a light oil and wipe gently with a cloth or paper towel. (Be careful not to remove the oil)
- A high quality carnauba wax will also protect the blade.
- Boeshield T-9: “Developed by the Boeing Company for the lubrication and protection of aircraft components.” It has a wax and oil combined to assure maximum protection. It may be found at Sears stores; however the cost is around $30.00. (You get what you pay for) This is the best!!!
The leather belt should be cleaned and cared for as any other leather product. You may go to a leather store or shoe store and find out what they recommend.
